About Us

westminster143

Established in 1986, the Volunteer Centre Westminster is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. Registered Charity number 295501.

The Centre is also quality accredited and a member of Volunteering England, the national body for volunteer development agencies.

Who do we work with:

Anyone who wants to volunteer in the City of Westminster and beyond (our services cover the seven boroughs that make up Central London) and any organisation wanting to involve volunteers in these areas.

Why:

Volunteering can transform lives and communities and we want to make becoming a volunteer as easy as possible for everyone, no matter who they are, what their background or where they come from. Over 30,000 people volunteer in the City of Westminster every year and we want to increase this number and ensure they have the best possible experience. We want to help organisations provide the best and safest experience for their volunteers enabling them to deliver the best possible services to the local community.

How:

Organisations who want volunteers can sign up as members, we can then add your volunteering opportunities to our database of over 800 opportunities which we currently promote to people interested in volunteering. Once a member, organisations can then access our CRB checking and other services from specific projects.

Our Trustees:

Volunteer Centre Westminster is governed by a Board of Trustees who meet quarterly to discuss the strategic direction of the organisation.

Our Partners:

Westminster City Council
Volunteering England
Greater London Volunteering
Voluntary Action Westminster

Funders:

Our main core funder is Westminster City Council
