Cynthia Armah

VCW Brokerage Volunteering Assistant

Cynthia joined VCW in April 2012, assisting with promoting volunteering to potential volunteers visiting VCW and working with the Best Practice team in supporting organisations with volunteers provided through the Centre.
Previously Cynthia has worked in Corporate Retailing. In 2004 she became an Outreach worker at Volunteer Centre Greenwich where she found it fulfilling to see client satisfaction on a daily basis. In 2006 she joined the Healthy Greenwich Network project and in 2009 took up a position at Greenwich Council promoting a healthier work force.
Carol’s thoughts on volunteering:
''Volunteering has a different meaning to many people. For some it re-engages them within their community; for others it re-enforces and helps build up their experience and confidence. Working in the volunteering sector has helped me to experience real differences in people. Volunteering proves to be a major contributor in changing people’s lives by empowering them to gain self confidence in order to make a difference. In many establishments, volunteers form the backbone of the core staff through the varied support they offer.
