Sports Volunteering and Events Project Coordinator

Steph joined the Centre in January 2012 and works both on the Sports Volunteering (City Transformed Through Sport) and City Guides Projects. Before joining the Centre, Steph worked as a full time volunteer on a National Volunteering Sports Project in Bath and Bristol.
Steph’s thoughts on Volunteering:
Someone once said, 'Volunteers aren't paid, not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.' From working as a full time volunteer for 11 months, I personally feel that volunteering is a way in which you can gain a lot of relevant experience and learn many transferable skills, which you may not acquire at School, College, or University. Before I started, I always associated volunteering with being quite boring and something that younger people didn’t really do. However; my attitude totally changed during that year and I would now recommend it to anyone. It is also another pathway to employment and I can definitely vouch for that!
