Volunteering for older people
Are you an older person but not sure whether volunteering is for you? Registration statistics at our Centre say that the majority of people who sign up to become a volunteer are aged between 20 & 40. We would like to change that because we know that people over 40 have so much to offer, with years of experience and wisdom at their finger-tips.
In fact, volunteering is a great way to keep active, meet people, use your skills and experience, and make a really positive contribution to society.
There is no upper age limit. As long as you feel motivated and able to do whatever tasks you take on, there is no reason why you can’t keep volunteering as long as you want to.
There are lots of ways to volunteer…
There are hundreds of different things you can do ranging from informal volunteering such as shopping for your neighbour to more formal, regular volunteering, perhaps for for a big national charity…and everything in between.
