There are hundreds of different volunteering opportunities out there, from admin to arts based to sports volunteering and not forgetting starting your own project.

The choice is sometimes too overwhelming. If you want to volunteer but not sure what to do, spend a bit of time thinking about why you want to volunteer.

Do you want to help a particular charity? Would you like to gain experience? if so in what? Would you like to volunteer in something related to your future career? Perhaps time will be you're deciding factor - you're only free on a sunday afternoon? Or perhaps location is the key.

In case you were wondering............

You can volunteer for a one off event, just four hours and your done; on a regular basis, perhaps four hours every week; or on a full-time basis, every day for three months. For most opportunities you will never be out of pocket - your travel will be covered and refreshments provided.
