Involving Young People
Young Volunteers can bring fresh ideas, skills and knowledge to the voluntary sector providing substantial community benefit.
Hundreds of young people have started volunteering in a huge range of roles – from being sports coaches to fundraising, administrative support and website design for voluntary organisations to name just a few! All through the FREE help and support provided by vinvolved Central London.
Although the project is no longer active, our aim is to pass on as much information as possible through these online resources so that organisations can continue to involve young volunteers.
| We have created a Good Practice Bank which hold much of the information you will need in order to start and continue to involve young volunteers within your organisation. This includes all the legal requirements and recommended policies and proceedures that you should have in place. |
|
You can advertise your opportunities on www.do-it.org and you can also create an account on the youth volunteering HQ: www.vinspired.com.
If you have previously had your volunteering opportunties advertised through the vinvolved team on vinspired, then they are no longer active online. You will need to activate your own account on vinspired in order to advertise your opportunities again. Please download full instructions on how to do this here.
|
| We have also developed a Handbook to Creating Full Time Opportunties, which is a step-by-step guide to introducing full time volunteers to your organisation.
This Handbook to Creating Full Time Internships has been compiled to help you as an organisation to set up and run your own placements and to get the most out of the experience of managing a full time young volunteer. Within this pack you will find all the documentation and information you need for a successful internship.
