Learning Disability Project

The Centre's Learning Disability Project, was established in 1996.  It is the centre's second longest standing Anita second versionproject which assists an average of 60 adults with learning difficulties to volunteer each year.  Those involved take on variety of roles , all of which provides a great opportunity for them to gain independance, engage in their community, develop skills and meet new people.  Anita Carrasco is just one of the many volunteers who help a number of charities, individually and as part of a group, often giving up to 3 or 4 days of their time each week.  Visit our recently launched easy read website to see why she and others involved in our scheme volunteer and what they get out of it.
And while you are there, who not take a look around this new section of our website; it provides information for those who want to find out about volunteering and gives organisations an insight into our work in an easy read, accessible format.  Happy viewing!
