VolEmploy Mentoring
VCW VolEmploy mentoring has commenced providing mentoring & volunteering support to unemployed individuals living in Westminster with the support of Big Lottery Fund and involving employees as volunteer mentors.
Main Aim: To provide one to one support to unemployed mentees to help them develop effective techniques and strategies to improve their quality of life and confidence in their employability issues.
Progress: The project has started delivering its services in October 2011 after our initial mentoring training took place by the end of September 2011. So far, we have managed to match 28 mentors to mentees, one of our mentees has started working full time and the rest are running their mentoring training effectively.
Follow up procedures: We have ongoing support in different ways in place like;
The programme coordinator is ready to be contacted any time as he is aware that mentoring meeting is mainly taking place after work to suit the mentor's time.
Proper record of meeting and action plan is in place.
Training: We have delivered two training sessions for mentors and mentees and this will continue.
So if you are interested to join the programme as a mentor or mentee please contact Yohannes Hagos on 0207 087 4351 and Mobile 07501 227755. Email: johannes@volunteer.co.uk |
