Perseverance & Problem Solving (primary School)

A school has asked us to run an activity with their students around confidence building and sustained concentration. With the increased use of computers and computer games the students attention span is shrinking and they would like to run some innovative workshops to encourage the children to gain more focus and learn actively. Part of this project would be also increasing the children’s confidence and self belief wsmall smileshich support focussed learning.

This project could involve a number of activities including:
  • Playing old fashioned board games such as chess, chequers
  • Making bridges out of newspapers
  • Quizzes to find out what learning styles the children have Visual, auditory, kinaesthetic and then demonstrate through activities
  • Memory activities such as mind pegs (association)
  • Run a debate and help the children to plan and then debate with one another on any given subject

Requirements

Optional elements:

  • Initial meeting with the school in which we will co create the project (a team leader could attend this if they wish)
  • Input in project design (optional)
