Mentor a long term unemployed person
Our new project VolEmploy seeks to support local long term unemployed people to get back into work through volunteering placements and mentoring from a person who is employed.
The project is seeking volunteers who can spare one or two hours a week who can mentor unemployed people, build their confidence, break down barriers to work and help them develop life skills.
Full training, support and supervision will be provided by the Volunteer Centre Westminster.
Over five years, the centre hopes to recruit 200 mentors. No qualifications are needed, but volunteers will preferably be employed and have knowledge of job applications, CVs and interview techniques.
