BlueBay volunteers provide I.T Training
@ a local charity
Project details
A team from BlueBay Asset Management volunteered their time to provide informal training on Microsoft Office (2007), which had been recently introduced at the offices of a charity based in Whitechapel.
The BlueBay team met with the charity to understand the level of need. Based on this they worked with the charity to create a structure for the day and designed some worksheets to support the training.
On the day, the team worked on a one-to-one basis with charity staff so as to ensure that each person had training geared towards their needs. The training included office applications such as Word, Outlook & Excel.
Building confidence:
Being involved in this project “helped me to build confidence to pass my knowledge onto other individuals, something which I have not done very much of in the past.”
Transferable resources:
Toolkits prepared by the volunteers have been shared within BlueBay for use by other members of staff
Informed & supported:
"Extremely useful. I felt confident asking questions. Trainers were very patient and excellent in sharing short cuts and useful tips"
Increased efficiency:
Charity staff now able to take advantage of new features in Office 2007, helping them to meet objectives more efficiently
Time & Talents Role:
Leading up to the project Time & Talents helped to match skills, identify community need and made introductions. Following the project, Time and Talents carried out a project evaluation to capture impact of project & integrate learnings

BlueBay volunteers providing IT training to charity staff
"
One thing that I feel worked particularly well was the one-to-one approach. Charity staff were able to better leverage off my IT skills during our one-to-one session, as they were able to continually ask questions that related to their specific use of the applications"
