Time & Talents input: Deputy Director from ODI was invited by Time & Talents to become a peer mentor; suggesting match with charity who was then also invited to take part. Initial meeting was organised and facilitated by Time & Talents

The match was very effective due an alignment of core values of both the individuals and the organisations. Both organisations support disabled people; one as government department, one as a charity. This relationship nurtured a space to gain perspective, problem solve and advance rich leadership insight from each other and their respective sectors.

"I was apprehensive at the start; the idea of entering into this made me feel quite vulnerable. But I soon realised that for it to work you have to be really open and honest. In addition to other factors, this relationship works particularly well because our personalities are complementary"
CEO, Charity

"The match was inspired – neither myself or Ali had identified that we wanted to be a mentor but the suggestion from Time & Talents allowed us to explore this and has led to a fruitful relationship of more than a year and going strong"
Director of Strategy The Office for Disability Issues
