Acevo publishes guide to cross sector learning relationships

Acevo reportThere has never been a better time to seize the initiative and find ways in which to increase understanding between the voluntary, private and public sectors. By developing these relationships, the voluntary sector can make its voice heard much more effectively. This ‘How to’ Guide offers tips and experiences on how to successfully ‘open doors’ with leaders in the public and private sectors. ‘Pushing at Open Doors’ looks particularly at the role of cross sector learning relationships in developing this understanding, and examines successful case studies involving a range of approaches including; mentoring, pro bono project support and trusteeships.

This guide was written by Ann Frye OBE, a senior independent consultant who volunteers as the Chair of Time & Talents and as a Trustee of Volunteer Centre Westminster. Through the guide commissioned by ACEVO (Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations), Ann demonstrates the valuable benefits of cross sector relationships for all involved and the sometimes unforseen postive impacts. Ann draws on learnings from a number of Time & Talents partners including Barclays, Department for Health, Home Office, John Lewis Partnership, PwC, Advocacy Project and Office for Disability Issues.
