NEWS

Whizz-Kidz and Blue Peter
Exciting news! Whizz-Kidz is Blue Peter’s Appeal Charity this year and they really need you to volunteer to make it a success. What’s the new Appeal all about? Blue Peter & Whizz-Kidz are asking children to make Christmas cards, which will be sold in selected Tesco stores with all proceeds going to Whizz-Kidz. The aim is to raise funds for 100 Whizz-Kidz Wheelchair Assessment Clinics across the UK. These clinics will benefit 400 children by allowing them to obtain wheelchairs more quickly to enjoy a more fun, active and independent life. This Blue Peter Go Cardz appeal launches on live on the BBC on 20th September. Help us make it happen: We need an army of volunteers to help us in our Volunteer Fulfilment Centre that is open 7 days a week until the 21st December. Volunteers will be responsible for a variety of different tasks:
• Assembling the card materials packs sent out to each Blue Peter viewer
• Checking cards when they have been returned
• Putting packs of cards into wrappers and boxes ready for sale
It’s going to be fun; you can come on your own or as part of a group. You can even put a few groups together and start a little competition. You also never know who is going to pop in!
