eVolve Youth Leadership Residential
| On the 22nd October 2010, there was a residential for vInvolved Central and North London’s Youth Action teams (eVolve and Woodhouse). |
 |
| We went to Woodrow High House in Amersham and stayed there over the weekend. We were learning skills to do with youth leadership, project planning and team building. It was a very amazing action packed weekend! |
| When we arrived on the Friday evening we were briefed on what the weekend would involve and played a few games to help us learn more about each other. The following day we had more activities and were split into six groups. Over the two days in those groups we had to plan and deliver a warm up session in front of everyone. We also discovered leadership styles and the roles which suited us best. At the end of the weekend we planned and moved forward on our film project by planning everything to the last detail. |

The weekend wasn’t all work and no play; we had outdoor activities which were great! We started by trying to balance all of us on a giant see-saw. Then we had to fit all of us on two pieces of wood without falling off. This was a real challenge because we had to fit ten people on a tiny area.
Afterwards we went across abridge in groups of four. This was scary especially for people with a fear of heights but we all made it across. Then we tackled the mighty Hex. I think everyone would agree that the start was the most painful part; we all had to stand on a tiny pole for about five to ten minutes as we waited for everyone to make it on.
Then we had to go through various rope activities and it ended with a scary but fun rope swing ride. We all took part and completed the activities together. This was an amazing opportunity and we all had fun tackling the challenge together as a team, as eVolve: the Youth Action Team of vinvolved Central London!
