Social Media Workshop 29 July 2010
Following our Press Working Group last year, Time & Talents for Westminster ran a Social Media Workshop in partnership with ReputationInc and Saffron Interactive and a guest speaker from The Conservatives to provide a space for charity and community organisations to think about ways in which social media can be useful in helping to achieve core objectives.
This followed a report by the Red Foundation highlighting that charity and community organisations are not using social media. Click here to read report

In a packed 2 hour session we explored:
- What social media platforms are out there and how they work
- Top tips to getting started with social media
- How social media can raise charity and community organisations' profiles
- Common issues with the use of social media: pros, cons and challenges
- Case studies of organisations successfully using social media
| During surgery-style sessions charity organisations had the opportunity to share their real life social media challenges with media professionals from a number of experts from organisations such as Turner Broadcasting and the Conservative Party. Read feedback from event participants |
