Full-Time Volunteering

Having a full time volunteer - too much of a commitment for your organisation?

Not at all..... Having a full-time volunteer could be very beneficial for you and your organisation. Are there lots of projects you would love to do but don’t have the time to start? A full time volunteer brings commitment, energy and a fresh young perspective.

Volunteering is a mutually beneficial activity and whilst the young people will provide you with all the above there are a few things that you should provide. A full-time volunteer will be with you for approximately 30 hours per week for a minimum of 13 weeks. We recommend that your organisation provides an induction, training, supervision and support (like you have for paid members of staff), travel or other expenses incurred as a result of the volunteering activity, and a full reference for the individual to take away at the end. Put like that it's not really unreasonable for 390 hours of extra help, support and inspiration.

Are young people interested?

Yes..... given the current problems with youth unemployment many young people find the prospect of taking on a voluntary commitment, where they can gain skills and experience to assist their career prospects, a more attractive option than sitting at home doing nothing.

How we can help you.

We are trying to build a database of full-time volunteering opportunities for 16-25 year olds in Central London . Please let us know if your organisation has any full-time volunteering opportunities and we will help to advertise these amongst 16-25 year olds across Central London.

Alternatively if you are inspired to create some full-time positions but would like some help, please do get in touch. Full-time roles can exist in any area of your front-line activity, as well as areas such as admin, marketing and promotion and project work. They're only limited by your imagination.
