Employer Supported Volunteering Rountable
March 2010
Nick Hurd, the Shadow Minister for the Third Sector hosted a round table meeting with private sector leaders to discuss employer supported volunteering (ESV) and corporate social responsibility (CSR). Two private sector representatives attended from Time & Talents – Rachel Allan, Barclays and Ian Messenger, SThree.
Discussion topics included:
- The kinds of leadership within companies that has promoted volunteering
- Different approaches to volunteering, eg the team challenge and individual skills-based development opportunities
- Evidence of benefits to business and the community
