Trusteeship training & networking


This event is being run in partnership by Time & Talents for Westminster and Voluntary Action Westminster

 

Who is this event for?

Employee volunteers who want to become a trustee of a local charity (ideal for those who are new to trusteeship)

Key elements of the training

  • What is a trustee?
  • What are the advantages of being a trustee?
  • What are the individual roles and responsibilities of trustees?
  • What are the collective roles and responsibilities of management committees?
  • What are the different legal structures of voluntary sector organisations, and how does this impact upon liability?
  • What support is available to you, once you are a trustee?

Networking objectives

  • Meet with local organisations and discuss current trustee opportunities
  • Hear firsthand about local challenges and priorities and how trustees can benefit organisations
  • Start making new links and discuss ways to work together with those in the room

Post-event support

  • Attendees will receive a short trustee pack and be signposted to further sources of information

  • Time & Talents will maintain ongoing communication with attendees and assist with finding suitable matches with our charity partners in Westminster.

  • All attendees will be given at least one available trusteeship vacancy to consider within six months of the training

5pm – 6pm: networking with charities looking to recruit new trustees

Joining instructions

 

In order to take part in this event and to enable us to look for suitable charity matches, you will be asked to complete a short online form about yourself and the type of trustee role you are seeking. By signing up for this event you will be placed on a mailing list to receive a link to this online form.

 

Training fee

Time & Talents Members: £100 per participant

Non-Members: £250
